Bromex Kid Syrup is a mucolytic that thins and loosens mucus to help clear chest congestion. This relieves chesty coughs and breathing difficulties due to excess mucus in cold, flu, and respiratory tract infections.
Q. What should I inform my doctor before taking Bromex Kid Syrup?
Before taking this medicine, inform your doctor if you have a persistent or chronic cough such as coughs due to smoking, asthma, chronic bronchitis, emphysema (a form of lung disease), or stomach ulcers.
Q. How will I know if Bromex Kid Syrup is working?
When you take this medicine, you may notice an increase in thin watery mucus from your air passages. This is an indication that it is working as it is helping to remove mucus by making it easier to cough up.

Q. Is bromhexine good for Covid?
Studies have shown that the early administration of oral bromhexine is associated with a reduced rate of symptomatic COVID-19, reduces the ICU transfer, and the mortality rate in patients with COVID-19.
Q. Is Bromex Kid Syrup good for dry cough?
No. Bromex Kid Syrup is more effective in the treatment of productive cough associated with thickened mucus. Consult your doctor to prescribe you the right medication for dry cough.
Q. Does Bromex Kid Syrup make you drowsy?
This medicine may cause dizziness or drowsiness in some people. If you have any of these symptoms, do not drive, operate machinery or do anything else that could be dangerous.
Q. Can I take other cough syrups while taking Bromex Kid Syrup?
No, you should not start taking any other cough syrups without consulting your doctor. The cough syrups which suppress the cough should be avoided with this medication as it would interfere with the action of the medicine.
Q. Can I take Bromex Kid Syrup with Paracetamol?
Although no interactions were found between Bromex Kid Syrup and Paracetamol, it is always advisable to consult your doctor before taking any medicines along with Bromex Kid Syrup. Never self medicate as it can be risky.
Q. Should we drink water after taking Bromex Kid Syrup?
To reduce your risk of experiencing irritation of the esophagus, it's important to take this medicine with plenty of water and to avoid lying down for at least half an hour after taking them. The amount of water needed can also depend on the dosage form.
Q. Along with taking Bromex Kid Syrup, what other tips should I follow to get relief from congestion?
Along with taking Bromex Kid Syrup, drink plenty of warm fluids (soup, water, herbal tea), gargle with saline water, avoid smoking, alcohol, caffeine, oily food, and take a healthy diet.
