Q. Can I give Mymox Suspension to my child repeatedly for a long time?
Giving your child Mymox Suspension for a long term can cause fungal infection (oral thrush) in the mouth and severe gastrointestinal infections (superinfections). Therefore, do not alter the dose and duration on your own and give Mymox Suspension to your child exactly as prescribed. Additionally, irregular treatment, repeated use, and misuse of Mymox Suspension can make the bacteria resistant.
Q. Are there any possible serious side effects of Mymox Suspension?
Although rare, Mymox Suspension may cause some serious side effects such as persistent vomiting, kidney damage, allergy, diarrhea, and severe gastrointestinal infections. Always consult your child’s doctor for help in such a situation.
Q. Can other medicines be given at the same time as Mymox Suspension?
Mymox Suspension can sometimes interact with other medicines or substances. Tell your doctor about any other medicines your child is taking before starting Mymox Suspension. Also, check with your child’s doctor before giving any medicine to your child.

Q. Can I get my child vaccinated while on treatment with Mymox Suspension?
Antibiotics usually do not interfere with the ingredients in vaccines or cause a bad reaction in a child who has just been vaccinated. However, children taking antibiotics should not get vaccinated until they recover from the illness. As soon as your child feels better, the vaccine can be given.
Q. The mucus coming out of my child’s nose is yellow-green. Is it a sign of a bacterial infection?
In the common cold, the mucus changes its color and thickens up with time, but this does not mean that your child needs antibiotics. Common cold symptoms often last for 7-10 days. In case they fail to clear up within this duration, reach out to your child’s doctor for guidance.
Q. Is Mymox Suspension safe for children suffering from infectious mononucleosis?
No, do not give this medicine to your child in this case as a high percentage of children with infectious mononucleosis develop a skin rash (erythematous rash) while taking Mymox Suspension.
Q. Can Mymox Suspension cause allergic reaction?
Although it is rare but yes, Mymox Suspension can cause allergic reaction and is harmful in patients with known allergy to penicillins. Get emergency medical help if you have any of the signs of an allergic reaction: hives; difficulty breathing; swelling of your face, lips, tongue, or throat.
Q. Can the use of Mymox Suspension cause diarrhea?
Yes, the use of Mymox Suspension can cause diarrhea. It is an antibiotic and it kills the harmful bacteria, however, it also affects the helpful bacteria in your stomach or intestine and causes diarrhea. If diarrhea persists, talk to your doctor about it.
Q. Can I stop taking Mymox Suspension when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Mymox Suspension and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cleared.
Q. How long does Mymox Suspension takes to work?
Usually, Mymox Suspension starts working soon after taking it. However, it may take around 2-3 days to make you feel better while taking Mymox Suspension.
Q. Is Mymox Suspension safe?
Mymox Suspension is usually considered to be safe when taken as advised by your doctor.

No, Mymox Suspension has not been reported to cause drowsiness. In case you experience drowsiness while taking Mymox Suspension, please consult your doctor.
