Momate Lotion is neither an antifungal nor an antibiotic. It is a corticosteroid which is used to reduce inflammation (redness, swelling) in various conditions. It is available as an ointment, cream and lotion for external application. It is also available as a nasal spray or powder for inhalation.
Q. Momate Lotion is effective for my child. Can I extend the treatment a little longer?
You should use Momate Lotion as advised by your doctor, especially in children. Using more than the recommended dose or even extending the duration may cause hormonal imbalance in your child. As a result, the child may develop puffiness or rounding of face and there could be delay in growth and development. Therefore, consult the doctor before trying any dose adjustments.
Q. What is Momate Lotion used for?
Momate Lotion is a steroid medicine which is used on the skin to relieve inflammatory and itchy skin diseases. It also helps in reducing redness, scaling and swelling associated with these conditions. Do not take this medicine without consulting your doctor.

Q. How to use Momate Lotion?
Momate Lotion should be gently rubbed into the affected skin twice daily for a maximum of about 2 weeks. In case, you do not find any considerable improvement within 2 weeks, consult your doctor for reevaluation.
Q. Can you use Momate Lotion on broken skin?
No, Momate Lotion should not be applied on broken skin. It is a steroid medicine which works by suppressing the immune system. It may cause varied side effects which can delay the healing process. Moreover, steroids are also known to cause skin atrophy which might worsen the associated condition.
Q. Does Momate Lotion cause local irritation or skin reactions?
Yes, Momate Lotion may cause local skin reactions like burning, itching, irritation, dryness and hypopigmentation in sensitive individuals, although it is rare. Therefore, it is important to inform your doctor if you have any history of allergy or reaction before you start therapy with this medicine. In some cases, the reason for the allergic reaction could be the added ingredients with the drug. In case of any reaction, stop the medication immediately and inform the doctor.
Q. What are the precautions that are needed to be taken while using Momate Lotion?
Momate Lotion should not be used on the face. Do not use the medication for longer periods of time than you have been advised. Do not apply a bandage or dressing to the area being treated, as this will increase absorption of the preparation and increase the risk of side-effects.
