एम्फोटेरेसिन बी, पोलीन एंटीमाइकोटिक्स नामक दवाओं की श्रेणी से सम्बन्ध रखता है। यह फंगस के बाहरी आवरण (कोशिका झिल्ली) पर काम करता है जिससे कोशिका के भीतर से आवश्यक पोषक तत्वों का रिसाव होता है जिससे उनकी मौत हो जाती है।
