Omeprazole + domperidone + simethicone uses

Omeprazole+Domperidone+Simethicone is used in the treatment of gastroesophageal reflux disease (acid reflux) and peptic ulcer disease.

How omeprazole + domperidone + simethicone works

This is a combination of three medicines: Omeprazole, Domperidone and Simethicone. Omeprazole is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI) which reduces the amount of acid in the stomach and relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn. Domperidone is a prokinetic which works on the region in the brain that controls vomiting. It also acts on the upper digestive tract to increase the movement of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach. Simethicone is an antifoaming medicine which disintegrates gas bubbles and allows easy passage of gas.

Common side effects of omeprazole + domperidone + simethicone

Diarrhea, Flatulence, Dryness in mouth, Headache, Constipation, Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Fundic gland polyps, Insomnia (difficulty in sleeping), Edema (swelling), Dizziness, Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), Blurred vision, Increased liver enzymes, Dermatitis, Rash, Bone fracture, Decreased blood cell count, Hypersensitivity, Decreased sodium level in blood, Depression, Taste change, Bronchospasm, Gastrointestinal candidiasis, Hepatitis (viral infection of liver)
