Gastroesophageal reflux disease (Acid reflux)

DESCRIPTION

Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) is a chronic disease. It is a severe form of acid reflux. When you have frequent episodes of acid reflux (more than twice a week) it may be a sign of GERD. The backflow of the acid irritates the food pipe lining and may cause inflammation. You may experience frequent regurgitation and heartburn, usually after eating. You may experience sensation of a lump in your throat and have difficulty swallowing.
