Thromboxan tablet uses

How thromboxan tablet works

Thromboxan 5mg Tablet is a novel oral anticoagulant (NOAC) that helps prevent blood clot formation. It works by directly and selectively inhibiting factor Xa, an important clotting factor involved in thrombin generation. It reduces thrombin formation and helps prevent the development and spread of blood clots.

  • It interacts less with food or other medicines. Hence, frequent dose changes are not required.

Thromboxan 5mg Tablet is used to reduce the risk of stroke and blood clots in people who have atrial fibrillation. In atrial fibrillation, the heart beats irregularly, increasing the chance of clots forming in the body and possibly causing strokes. Thromboxan 5mg Tablet also helps to reduce the risk of forming a blood clot in the legs and lungs of people who have just had hip or knee replacement surgery and treat blood clots in the veins of your legs (deep vein thrombosis) or lungs (pulmonary embolism), and reduce the risk of them occurring again.
Q. How dangerous is Thromboxan 5mg Tablet?
Thromboxan 5mg Tablet is generally safe when taken exactly as prescribed, but like all blood thinners, it can increase the risk of bleeding. Do not stop taking it without consulting your doctor, as stopping suddenly may raise the risk of blood clots. In rare cases, people who receive spinal or epidural anesthesia or undergo a spinal puncture while taking this medicine may develop a blood clot around the spine, which can cause serious complications. Always inform your doctor before any such procedure so that appropriate precautions can be taken.
