- Bromocriptine is used to lower blood sugar level in adults with type 2 diabetes.
- You should continue to exercise regularly, eat a healthy diet, and take your other diabetes medicines (if prescribed) along with Bromocriptine.
- It should be taken with or after food to avoid side effects such as nausea or indigestion.
- To lower the chance of feeling dizzy or passing out, rise slowly if you have been sitting or lying down.
- Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Bromocriptine can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
- Hypoglycemia (low blood sugar level) may occur when taken along with other antidiabetic medicines, alcohol or on delaying/skipping a meal. Carry a sugar source with you for immediate relief.
