  • Hydrocortisone is used to treat the redness, swelling, itching, and discomfort of eczema.
  • It should be applied to the affected areas as a thin film two or three times daily, or as advised by your doctor.
  • Don't use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor.
  • Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • If you think the area of skin you are treating has become infected you should stop using Hydrocortisone and consult your doctor.

Q. Can Cortivac Cream be used on the face?
No, Cortivac Cream should not be used on the face. In addition to this, Cortivac Cream should not be used on the axillae (armpits), groin and if there is atrophy (wasting away of tissues) at the treatment site. In certain circumstances, it can be exceptionally considered to be used by the doctors. It should be used only after consultation with your physician and if possible, the application on the face should be limited to a maximum of 5 days.
Q. Can we use Cortivac Cream in infections?
Cortivac Cream is not an antimicrobial or antifungal agent. It is a steroid medication. It should not be used in infections as being a corticosteroid it suppresses the immune system and increases the risk of infections. Bacterial infections are prone to worsen if the infection is covered with a dressing after using Cortivac Cream. In case the inflammatory lesions get infected or there is any spread of infection, consult your doctor immediately. The doctor will withdraw the use of Cortivac Cream and provide appropriate antimicrobial therapy.
Q. How to use Cortivac Cream?
Before using Cortivac Cream, clean and dry the affected area. Gently and thoroughly massage it into the skin. Be careful not to get the medication in your eyes or mouth. If Cortivac Cream gets in your eyes accidentally, wash with plenty of water and call your doctor if your eyes are irritated.

Q. Can I stop taking Cortivac Cream when my symptoms are relieved?
No, do not stop taking Cortivac Cream and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better. Your symptoms may improve before your treatment is complete. Stopping Cortivac Cream before your treatment is completed can bring back your symptoms of skin.
Q. What are the precautions that are needed to be taken while using Cortivac Cream?
Cortivac Cream should not be used on the face. Do not use the medication for longer periods of time than you have been advised. Do not apply a bandage or dressing to the area being treated, as this will increase absorption of the preparation and increase the risk of side-effects.
