How antaxid tablet works

Antaxid Tablet is a proton pump inhibitor (PPI). It works by reducing the amount of acid in the stomach which in turn relieves acid-related indigestion and heartburn.

No, a single dose may not be sufficient. However, with only a few doses of Antaxid Tablet you may get relief with the symptoms. Antaxid Tablet is usually needed only for a short term or upto 2 weeks for heartburn, indigestion, acid reflux. However, if need arises, such as for treating peptic ulcer disease and Zollinger Ellison syndrome (ZES), Antaxid Tablet may be prescribed for a long term duration as well. If the use is further prolonged for more than a year, you may have an increased risk of bone fractures, stomach infections, and vitamin B12 deficiency. Vitamin B12 deficiency can make you anemic, as a result of which you may feel more tired, weak, or pale.
