Q. Can I just stop taking Melitracen?
No, you must not stop taking Melitracen suddenly even if you are feeling better as it may worsen your condition. Q. Is there anything I need to be careful about while on treatment with Melitracen?
Melitracen may cause drowsiness and dizziness, especially in the beginning of the treatment. Do not drive or work with tools or machinery if your alertness is affected. It is not advisable to drink alcohol during treatment with this medicine as it might worsen the drowsiness. Inform your doctor if you have any problems with your liver or kidneys. Let your doctor know about all the other medicines you are taking because they may affect, or be affected by, this medicine. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning to conceive or breastfeeding to prevent any harmful effects on the baby.
Q. Can Melitracen cause urinary problems?
Yes, Melitracen can cause urinary problems. It is more commonly seen in elderly patients who are above 65 years of age. The patient may face difficulty in passing urine which can further lead to a urinary tract infection. You should consult your doctor immediately if you develop these symptoms.
