Senasof tablet belongs to the class of stimulant laxatives. It contains substances called senosides, which irritate the lining of the bowel and stimulate the bowel to go into a rhythmic set of contractions, which help in expelling out the faecal matter.

Do not use this medicine during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Inform your doctor and use this medicine with caution in case of a recent change in bowel habits, reduced gut motility, intestinal obstruction, abdominal disorders such as IBD, appendicitis, bowel atony, heart failure, dehydration, kidney failure and any disorders causing chronic diarrhoea or rectal bleeding. Use this medicine with caution if you are taking any diuretics/water tablets, heart medicines or steroids.
