- Paraffin serves as a skin lubricant that does not allow loss of water from the skin surface
- White soft paraffin and liquid paraffin together is used as a barrier cream. It hydrates, soothes and smoothens the skin. On persistent use the skin is able to retain the moisture and thereby restore its flexibility
- Liquid paraffin serves as the emollient and white soft paraffin as skin lubricant. Additionally, the cream can be used for protection of raw skin, as a pre-bathing emollient and lubrication and protection of skin in dry conditions
