The system exceeds the minimum accuracy requirements of the ISO 15197:2013 standard. The system can be synced with the free CONTOUR DIABETES app to support diabetes self-management, adding insight and meaning to the results.

Uses:
The glucometer device and the strips can be used to keep managing diabetes and its related symptoms.

Product Specifications and Features:
  • smartLIGHT Feature: Makes it quick and easy to interpret blood glucose readings using coloured lights
  • The different lights and their indications are Amber - above target range, Green - within target range, and Red - below target range
  • Second-chance sampling: Prompts the user to reapply blood if the first sample is insufficient to take a reading
  • This helps avoid lancing a second time and wasting strips
  • The Contour Plus One system exceeded the minimum accuracy requirements of the ISO 15197:2013 standard
  • The system syncs via Bluetooth to the Contour Diabetes app to upload all the readings to an electronic diary and helps identify trends in the results, and sends notifications of potential causes
  • The app also generates blood sugar diary reports that can be sent before or shared during an appointment with the healthcare professional

Frequently Asked Questions:

How to set up the device?
The device can be set up in two ways: on the meter itself or by using the CONTOUR DIABETES app on the phone.
Please see the User Guide received with the meter for instructions on the initial setup from the meter itself.
To set up the meter from the app, download the CONTOUR®DIABETES app, open the app, tap ‘Get started’ and follow the instructions. This will set up the meter and app at the same time.

How to turn on the device?
The device can be turned on in the following ways:
  • Pressing and holding down the large, round button on the right-hand end of the meter
or
  • Inserting a CONTOUR®PLUS test strip into the meter (this will automatically turn the meter on)

How to know if more blood is to be applied to a test strip?
The Second-Chance® sampling feature will cause the meter to beep twice and display a flashing test strip icon. Within 60 seconds, apply some more blood to the test strip, so there is enough for the meter to measure the blood glucose. Once enough blood is added, the meter will automatically take a reading as usual.

What do the apple symbols on the meter mean?
The apple symbols are meal markers. Meal markers allow the meter to compare blood glucose readings against the related target ranges so that the smartLIGHT™ feature can indicate whether the blood glucose is above, below or within the target range.
