Product Specifications and Features:
  • Needle holders, also known as needle drivers or needle forceps, are surgical instruments used to hold and push a suturing needle. Surgeons use them for wound closure, ligation, and other surgical procedures
  • A needle holder's primary function is to hold the needle steady while applying sutures, preventing injury to the surgeon's hand and the surrounding tissues
  • Most needle holders also have a ratchet mechanism that locks the handles together and clamps the needle firmly between the jaws, allowing the user to manoeuvre the needle through various tissues without having to keep squeezing the grip

Directions For Use:
  • In the usual (tip-ward) Ob grip with ordinary suturing (advancing the needle by supination), the holder is shifted in the direction opposite to the fingertip (towards the arm) and, in that with reversed suturing (by pronation), towards it

Safety Information:
  • Here are some safety tips for using a needle holder:
  • Check for cracks: Small cracks in the joint or jaws can compromise the needle holder
  • Check for alignment: If the tips of the jaws are not aligned, at least one tip will be bent
  • Use a tool to remove needles: Use a tool to remove a needle from a syringe
  • Point the needle away from yourself: Keep the needle pointed away from yourself and other people at all times
  • Maintain visual contact: Keep visual contact with the needle at all times while uncapped
  • Dispose of uncapped needles immediately: Never leave an uncapped needle lying on a workbench
