How mesacol suppository works

Mesacol 500mg Suppository is an aminosalicylate. It works directly on the site of inflammation (swelling) in the lower parts of the large intestine (colon and rectum) to provide rapid relief from attacks of ulcerative colitis. It suppresses the production of chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause intestinal inflammation, thereby reducing ulceration, bleeding, and painful symptoms.
