એલ્બેન્ડાઝોલ એન્ટિ- હેલમિન્થિક કહેવાતી દવાઓની શ્રેણી સાથે સંબંધ ધરાવે છે. એલ્બેન્ડાઝોલ પેટમાં હાજર કીટને સુગર (ગ્લુકોઝ)નું શોષણ કરતાં અટકાવે છે, જેથી તેઓ ઉર્જા ગુમાવે છે અને મરી જાય છે.
