- Make sure to keep all other rescue medicines handy for your child in case of any respiratory distress.
- Never increase or decrease the dose of Montelukast on your own, as it can harm your child.
- Never combine Montelukast with other cold and flu medicines, as that may cause some side effects.
- If you are giving Montelukast to your child for asthma or allergy, you need not give another dose to prevent exercise-induced breathing problems. In case of any confusion, consult your child’s doctor as soon as possible.
- Practice self-care tips like abstaining your child from coming in contact with allergens. Encourage your child to wear a face mask and avoid dusty places. Give plenty of fluids to your child, as that helps in thinning and loosening the mucus in the lungs.
