ડેફ્લાઝાકોર્ટ એક કોર્ટિકોસ્ટિરોઇડ દવા છે. જે શરીરમાં ગ્લુકોકોર્ટિકોઈડના સ્તરને વધારે છે અને પ્રતિરક્ષા તંત્ર દ્વારા શરીર ને સ્વ નુકસાન (અંગ આરોપણ અથવા કેન્સરમાં થતી સ્વપ્રતિરક્ષાત્મક પ્રક્રિયાઓ)ને અટકાવવા માટે પ્રતિરક્ષાને દબાવે છે.
