How vincristine works

Vincristine blocks replication of genetic material (DNA) in the cancer cells. Thus it stops the growth and multiplication of cancer cells.

Common side effects of vincristine

Hair loss, Constipation, Nerve pain, Neuromuscular disorders, Decreased white blood cell count (lymphocytes), Paresthesia (tingling or pricking sensation), Abdominal pain, Acute respiratory distress syndrome, Increased uric acid level in blood, Azotemia (increased nitrogen containing compounds level in blood), Decreased sodium level in blood, Hypotension (low blood pressure), Hypersensitivity
