Tinidazole+Povidone Iodine+Zinc Sulfate is used in the treatment of bacterial skin infections.

How tinidazole + povidone iodine + zinc sulfate works

This is a combination of three medicines: Tinidazole, Povidone Iodine and Zinc Sulfate. Tinidazole is an antibiotic which kills bacteria and other infectious microorganisms by damaging their DNA. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic applied on skin which is infected or is likely to get infected. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms. Zinc Sulfate has astringent and antiseptic action.

Expert advice for Tinidazole + Povidone Iodine + Zinc Sulfate

  • It is for use on skin only. Do not use it in your eyes, mouth, or vagina. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
  • Some tips for personal hygiene:
    • Wash your hands with soap before and after applying the cream.
    • Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone. 
    • Wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection.
  • Do not cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor, as this may increase the risk of side effects.
  • If you think the area of skin you are treating has become more irritated and infected, you should stop using Tinidazole + Povidone Iodine + Zinc Sulfate and consult your doctor.
  • Do not use this medicine more often or for longer than advised by your doctor. Inform your doctor if the treated skin area does not improve after 2 weeks of treatment.
