How sulphur hexafluoride works

Sulphur Hexafluoride microbubbles are employed as a contrast agent in ultrasound imaging. When injected into the bloodstream, these microbubbles resonate in response to ultrasound waves, enhancing the ultrasound signal. This increased signal allows the ultrasound machine to produce clearer and more detailed images of blood flow and tissue perfusion.

  • Sulphur Hexafluoride is for diagnostic use only.
  • You must inform your doctor if you have pulmonary hypertension, adult respiratory distress syndrome, or cardiovascular problem.
  • You must inform your doctor if you are taking dobutamine.
  • You must stay under close medical supervision during and for at least 30 minutes following the administration of Sulphur Hexafluoride.
