Sulfadiazine is used in the treatment of bacterial infections.

How sulfadiazine works

Sulfadiazine is an antibiotic. It stops the bacteria from producing folic acid, a nutrient required for bacterial multiplication.

Nausea, Diarrhea, Headache, Dizziness, Decreased appetite, Photosensitivity, Rash, Aplastic anemia, Itching, Goiter (enlarged thyroid gland), Diuresis, Hypoglycemia (low blood glucose level), Stevens-Johnson syndrome, Granulocytopenia, Hemolytic anemia, Decreased white blood cell count (lymphocytes)
