  • Sofalcone is used for the treatment of excess acid in the body that might cause stomach and intestinal ulcers.
  • Avoid taking soft drinks, citrus fruits like orange and lemon, which can irritate the stomach and increase acid secretion.
  • Do not take Sofalcone at least 2 hours before or after taking other medicines as it may interact with other medicines.
  • Call your doctor if your symptoms do not improve within 2 weeks of taking this medicine.
  • Incorporate the following lifestyle changes in order to prevent excess acid production:
    1. Make sure you eat regular meals and drink plenty of water.
    2. Avoid spicy and fatty fried food.
    3. Lose weight if you are obese.
    4. If you are a smoker, consider giving up.
    5. Don't drink too much alcohol.
    6. Do not go to bed immediately after taking a meal. Sit in a relaxed position for some time for better digestion.
