How quinine + doxycycline works

This is a combination of two antiparasitic medicines: Quinine and Doxycycline which treat malaria. Quinine is an antiparasitic medicine. It works by increasing the levels of haeme in the blood, a substance toxic to the malarial parasite. This kills the parasite and stops the infection from spreading. Doxycycline is an antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

Diarrhea, Nausea, Vomiting, Stomach pain, Photosensitivity, Blurred vision, Changes in color vision, Dizziness, Headache, Atrial arrhythmias (altered heart rate), Increased sweating, Ringing in ear, Vertigo
