Povidone Iodine+Tinidazole+Sucralfate is used in the treatment of bacterial skin infections.

How povidone iodine + tinidazole + sucralfate works

This is a combination of three medicines: Povidone Iodine, Tinidazole and Sucralfate. Povidone Iodine is an antiseptic. It slowly releases iodine which kills or prevents the growth of infectious microorganisms. Tinidazole is an antibiotic. It kills the bacteria and other microorganisms that cause infections by damaging their DNA. Sucralfate is protectant which covers the damaged tissue and protects it against injury to facilitate healing.

  • You have been prescribed Povidone Iodine + Tinidazole + Sucralfate for the treatment of your skin infections.
  • Apply it as a thin layer onto a clean, dry, unbroken infected area of skin.
  • Don't cover the area being treated with airtight dressings such as bandages unless directed by a doctor.
  • Use moisturizer regularly to overcome skin dryness during the course of treatment.
  • It may take several weeks to show its action. Keep using it as suggested by your doctor.
  • Do not share your towel or clothes with anyone and wear clean clothes every day to prevent infection.
