Midostaurin is used in the treatment of blood cancer.

How midostaurin works

Midostaurin works by blocking the action of the abnormal protein that triggers the multiplication of cancer cells. This helps stop the spread of mast and cancer cells.

Common side effects of midostaurin

Febrile neutropenia, Nausea, Mucositis, Vomiting, Headache, Petechiae (red or purple spot caused by bleeding into the skin), Musculoskeletal (bone, muscle or joint) pain, Nosebleeds, Infection, Increased glucose level in blood, Upper respiratory tract infection
