Lidocaine+Sucralfate is used in the treatment of piles.

How lidocaine + sucralfate works

This is a combination of two medicines: Lidocaine and Sucralfate which treat piles. Lidocaine is a local anesthetic that provides faster relief from pain due to swelling in piles. Sucralfate is an ulcer medication which covers the damaged tissue and protects it against injury to facilitate healing.

Expert advice for Lidocaine + Sucralfate

  • Lidocaine + Sucralfate is for administration into the back passage (rectum). It must not be taken by mouth.
  • Do not use it more often or for longer than advised by your doctor, as that can increase the chances of side effects.
  • Use the applicator provided to insert a measured dose of cream into your back passage.
  • Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
  • Inform your doctor if you get any signs of infection during treatment with this medicine.
