Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose+Ofloxacin+Prednisolone is used in the treatment of Bacterial eye infections.

How hydroxypropylmethylcellulose + ofloxacin + prednisolone works

This is a combination of three medicines: Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose, Ofloxacin and Prednisolone. Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose is a lubricant. It works similar to natural tears and provides temporary relief from burning and discomfort in the eye. Ofloxacin is an antibiotic which prevents bacterial cells from dividing and repairing. This kills the bacteria that cause eye infection. Ofloxacin is a steroid. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the eye red, swollen and itchy.
