Flumazenil is used as Benzodiazepine overdose.

How flumazenil works

Flumazenil is an antitode, which is used to reverse the effect of medicine “benzodiazepine” given during surgery for sedation. It blocks the action of benzodiazepines by acting on GABA receptors, thereby reversing the sedation effect.

Sleepiness, Dizziness, Injection site pain, Increased sweating, Headache, Blurred vision, Nausea, Vomiting, Fatigue, Cutaneous vasodilatation, Agitation, Emotional lability, Confusion, Convulsion, Hearing impairment, Rigors, Shivering, Arrhythmia (irregular heartbeats), Slow heart rate, Tachycardia, High blood pressure, Chest pain, Hiccup, Speech disorder
