Flucytosine uses
Flucytosine is used in the treatment of severe fungal infections. It is used with other antifungal medicines to treat systemic yeast and fungal infections (cryptococcal meningitis and severe systemic candidiasis).
How flucytosine works
Flucytosine kills and slows the growth of fungus by interfering with protein and DNA synthesis.
