Fluconazole+Zinc pyrithione is used in the treatment of dandruff.

How fluconazole + zinc pyrithione works

This is a combination of two antifungal medicines: Fluconazole and Zinc pyrithione which treat dandruff. Fluconazole kills fungi by destroying the fungal cell membrane. Zinc pyrithione works by penetrating the cell membrane of the fungi to interfere with their energy metabolism and oxygen uptake. This kills the fungi and clears up the infection.

  • Fluconazole + Zinc pyrithione is used for the treatment and prevention of dandruff.
  • Leave the shampoo on for three to five minutes before rinsing.
  • Take care to avoid getting it in your eyes. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Stop using Fluconazole + Zinc pyrithione and inform your doctor if you notice any irritation or any other skin infection.
  • Your usual shampoo can be used as necessary between treatment with this medicine.
