Fenfluramine

Information about Fenfluramine

Fenfluramine uses

Fenfluramine is used in seizures.

How fenfluramine works

Fenfluramine helps reduce seizures by affecting serotonin, a chemical in the brain that controls nerve activity. It increases serotonin levels and activates certain receptors (like 5-HT2C) that calm overactive nerves, making seizures less frequent and severe. This makes it helpful for hard-to-treat conditions like Dravet Syndrome, where other treatments may not work well.
