Mostly, Dabigatran Etexilate is suggested to be taken twice daily at the same time each day. The two doses should be taken at a gap of about 12 hours. If you miss a dose of Dabigatran Etexilate then take it as soon as possible up to 6 hours prior to the next scheduled dose. However, skip the missed dose if your next dose is less than 6 hours away. Never take two doses of Dabigatran Etexilate at the same time.

Taking alcohol while taking Dabigatran Etexilate can increase the effect of this medicine, thereby increasing the chance of bleeding. Regular intake of alcohol can lead to a gastric ulcer which might again cause bleeding. So, it is better to avoid alcohol while you are taking this medicine. Do consult your doctor if any such episode of bleeding occurs.
