Clotrimazole+Choline Salicylate+Tannic Acid+Cetrimide is used in the treatment of mouth infection.

How clotrimazole + choline salicylate + tannic acid + cetrimide works

This is a combination of four medicines: Clotrimazole, Choline Salicylate, Tannic Acid and Cetrimide. Clotrimazole is an antifungal medicine which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering. Choline Salicylate is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which blocks the release of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Tannic Acid is an astringent. It forms a protective layer on the gums while exerting antiviral and antibacterial effects. Cetrimide is an antiseptic which relieves sore gums.

Expert advice for Clotrimazole + Choline Salicylate + Tannic Acid + Cetrimide

  • Apply it over the affected area with a clean fingertip, three to four times a day or as directed by your doctor.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Once you apply the medication, wait for at least 30 minutes before eating and drinking anything.
  • Avoid getting it in the eyes or nose. If accidental exposure occurs, rinse immediately with plenty of water.
  • Inform your doctor if the infection has not cleared up after four weeks of treatment.
