Chlorpheniramine Maleate+Codeine+Sodium Citrate+Menthol is used in the treatment of dry cough.

How chlorpheniramine maleate + codeine + sodium citrate + menthol works

This is a combination of four medicines: Chlorpheniramine Maleate, Codeine, Sodium Citrate and Menthol. Chlorpheniramine Maleate is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Codeine is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Sodium Citrate is a mucolytic which thins and loosens mucus (phlegm), making it easier to cough out. Menthol produces a cooling sensation and relieves minor throat irritation.
