Benzoic Acid+Hydrocortisone+Salicylic Acid is used in the treatment of psoriasis.

How benzoic acid + hydrocortisone + salicylic acid works

This is a combination of three medicines: Benzoic Acid, Hydrocortisone and Salicylic Acid. Benzoic Acid is an antiseptic. Hydrocortisone is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Salicylic Acid is a keratolytic medicine which breaks down keratin clumps, removes dead skin cells and softens the skin. It also enhances the absorption of Hydrocortisone into the skin.

  • Wash your skin with a mild cleanser and pat it dry before applying Benzoic Acid + Hydrocortisone + Salicylic Acid.
  • Apply it as a thin layer onto a clean, dry, unbroken infected area of skin.
  • It may cause minor burning, stinging or irritation when applied. Inform your doctor if this does not go away.
  • Avoid contact with your eyes, nose or mouth. Rinse it off with water if you accidentally get the cream in these areas.
  • Use moisturizer regularly to overcome the skin dryness during the course of treatment.
