How beclometasone + clioquinol (iodochlorhydroxyquin) + gentamicin + tolnaftate works

This is a combination of four medicines: Beclometasone, Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin), Gentamicin and Tolnaftate which treat skin infections. Beclometasone is a steroid medicine. It blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Clioquinol (Iodochlorhydroxyquin) is an antibiotic with additional antifungal action. It works by preventing the growth and multiplication of both bacteria and fungi. Gentamicin is also an antibiotic which specifically kills bacteria by preventing synthesis of essential proteins required by bacteria to carry out vital functions. Tolnaftate is an antifungal which stops the growth of fungi by preventing them from forming their own protective covering.
