Aspirin + esomeprazole uses

Aspirin+Esomeprazole is used to prevent Angina (heart-related chest pain), heart attack and stroke.

How aspirin + esomeprazole works

This is a combination of two medicines : aspirin and esomeprazole. Aspirin is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) with anti-platelet action. It works by preventing platelets from sticking together which decreases the formation of harmful blood clots. This lowers the chance of heart attack or stroke. Esomeprazole is a proton-pump inhibitor which reduces the amount of acid in the stomach and prevents damage to the stomach lining caused by aspirin.

  • Take it at the same time every day to help you remember to take it.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • It can make you feel dizzy for the first few days. Do not drive or do anything requiring concentration until you know how Aspirin + Esomeprazole affects you.
  • It may make you bleed more easily. Be careful while shaving, using sharp objects, or cutting fingernails or toenails.
  • Inform your doctor if you are pregnant, planning pregnancy or breastfeeding.
