How aflapin + methyl sulfonyl methane works

This is a combination of two medicines: Aflapin and Methyl Sulfonyl Methane. Aflapin is a 5-LOX inhibitor. It works by suppressing an enzyme (5-lipoxygenase) which is responsible for joint pain, swelling and stiffness. It also protects the cartilage (soft tissue that cushions the joints). Methyl Sulfonyl Methane is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID). It blocks the release of certain chemical messengers that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling) of the joints. Overall, this combination helps improve pain, physical function and mobility.
