Uses

Simvastatin is used in the treatment of high cholesterol, prevention of heart attack and stroke and high triglycerides.

How it works

Simvastatin is a lipid-lowering medication (statin). It works by blocking an enzyme (HMG-CoA-reductase) that is required in the body to make cholesterol. It thus lowers "bad" cholesterol (LDL) and triglycerides, raising the level of "good" cholesterol (HDL).

How it works

Ezetimibe is a cholesterol absorption inhibitors. It reduces the cholesterol absorption from the intestine and lowers the levels of total cholesterol and "bad" cholesterol (LDL) in the blood.
