Roko capsule uses

How roko capsule works

ROKO Capsule is an anti-diarrhoeal medication. It works by slowing down the contraction of the intestines thereby decreasing the speed at which the contents pass through it. This allows more time for reabsorption of fluids and nutrients, making the stools more solid and less frequent.

  • Diarrhea can cause water loss and electrolyte imbalance. Drink plenty of fluids to help keep you hydrated.
  • Consult your doctor if your diarrhea lasts for more than 48 hours.
  • Do not use Loperamide if you have blood in your stool or if you are severely constipated.
  • Use caution while driving or doing anything that requires concentration as Loperamide can cause dizziness and sleepiness.
  • Stop taking the medication as soon as your symptoms are relieved.

ROKO Capsule is used in higher doses as a part of opiate withdrawal process. However, do consult your doctor regarding the same.

ROKO Capsule may benefit few cases of stomach cramps or nausea associated with diarrhea. It is sometimes used for stomach flu, rota virus diarrhea. It is not used for gas. Please consult your doctor before taking the drug.
Q. Can I take ROKO Capsule with cimetidine?
Cimetidine can decrease the metabolism of ROKO Capsule, increase its blood levels and hence, increase its effects and side effects. Your dose of ROKO Capsule may needs to be decreased. Consult your doctor prior to taking both the drugs together.
