  • Mupirocin is prescribed for bacterial skin infections like impetigo.
  • Clean and dry the affected area, and apply the medicine at least 3 times a day. A dressing can be applied over the treated area if needed.
  • Avoid getting it in the eyes, mouth, or nose. Rinse with cold water if you accidentally get it in these areas.
  • It can cause slight irritation at the application site. Let your doctor know if the irritation does not go away.
  • If your skin condition does not improve within 3 to 5 days, consult your doctor.

M-Sys Cream is an antibacterial medicine and will only help if the diaper rash is due to bacterial infection.
Q. What if I do not get better after using M-Sys Cream?
Inform your doctor if your symptoms are getting worse while using this medicine. If you do not feel better after finishing the full course of treatment, consult your doctor.
Q. For how long do I need to use M-Sys Cream?
Use M-Sys Cream for the duration advised by your doctor. The bacteria are normally cleared from your skin within 10 days of starting the treatment. Do not use it for more than 10 days. If your skin condition does not improve within 3-5 days, see your doctor.

Q. How should I use M-Sys Cream?
Follow the directions given by your doctor carefully. Wash your hands before applying the M-Sys Cream. Apply the medicine to the infected area of the skin 2-3 times daily or as told by your doctor. You can cover the treated area with a dressing or leave it open as per your doctor’s advice.
Q. Can I apply M-Sys Cream on an open wound?
Avoid using the M-Sys Cream for large open wounds. Consult your doctor on how to use it and follow all instructions for maximum benefits.
Q. After I applied M-Sys Cream, I felt burning and stinging sensations. Should I stop using it?
Burning sensation is a common side effect of applying M-Sys Cream. However, stinging is uncommon. It does not last long and will disappear after sometime. Do not stop using M-Sys Cream because of these mild side effects. If you have any concerns consult your doctor.
Q. In which areas of the skin should I avoid using M-Sys Cream?
M-Sys Cream should not be used to treat infections in or near the eyes, nostrils, or mouth. If this medicine accidentally enters your eyes, wash your eyes thoroughly with water. In case you have tubes inserted in your body for the delivery of fluids or medicines (cannula), do not use this medicine to treat the skin near that area.
Q. What should prompt me to stop using M-Sys Cream?
Wash off the medicine immediately if you get a raised and itchy rash, cough, shortness of breath, wheezing or difficulty breathing, fainting, or swelling of the face, lips, tongue, throat, or other parts of the body. These may be signs of severe allergic reactions. You should immediately stop using M-Sys Cream and consult your doctor. Though unlikely, if you get abdominal cramps and diarrhea, you should stop M-Sys Cream immediately and consult your doctor.
