Q. What is Lyoflora Capsule used for?
Lyoflora Capsule is a probiotic medicine used to treat different types of diarrhea, including diarrhea caused by antibiotics, infections, traveler’s diarrhea, irritable bowel disease, and diarrhea linked to Clostridium difficile. It helps restore the natural balance of gut bacteria.
Q. Who should not take Lyoflora Capsule?
Individuals should not take Lyoflora Capsule if they are allergic to yeast or any of the ingredients present in it, have a central venous catheter, are critically ill, or have a weak immune system.
Q. Can Lyoflora Capsule cause serious side effects?
Although they are rare, serious side effects of Lyoflora Capsule may include severe allergic reactions such as swelling of the face or throat, difficulty breathing, or anaphylaxis. Rare cases of bloodstream infection (fungemia or sepsis) have also been reported in very sick or immunocompromised patients.

No. Lyoflora Capsule is not recommended for immunocompromised patients or those with central lines (catheters), because it can enter the bloodstream and cause infections.
Q. What should I do if my diarrhea does not improve with Lyoflora Capsule?
If your diarrhea continues for more than two days while taking Lyoflora Capsule, consult your doctor. You may need further medical evaluation or additional treatment, especially if you are losing fluids quickly.
Q. Does Lyoflora Capsule replace rehydration therapy?
No. Lyoflora Capsule does not replace rehydration. If you are losing a lot of fluids due to diarrhea, you must drink plenty of water and electrolyte solutions to stay hydrated, as advised by your doctor.
