Leucovorin 50mg Injection is used to prevent harmful effects of drugs like methotrexate, pyrimethamine, or trimethoprim when it is used to treat certain types of cancer. It is also used to treat anemia (lack of red blood cells) caused by chemotherapy (treatment with cancer medications).
How leucovorin injection works
Leucovorin calcium belongs to the class of medications called as folic acid analogues. It works by protecting healthy cells from the effects of methotrexate, while allowing it to enter and kill cancerous cells. .
