Isogen capsule uses

{med_name} is used in the treatment of breast cancer. It is also used to treat patients with certain types of breast cancer (estrogen receptor-positive, human epidermal growth factor receptor 2-negative) which have spread to other organs. It is given together with hormonal anticancer therapies.

How isogen capsule works

Isogen 125mg Capsule is an anti-cancer medication. Cyclin dependent kinase 4 and 6 (chemical messengers) are downstream of signaling pathways which lead to the proliferation of cells. This medicine works by inhibiting cyclin dependent kinase 4 and 6, thus arrests the cancer cell cycle (cell growing process). It also targets the estrogen (hormone) receptor-positive breast cancer cells by disrupting the cell cycle.

Yes, blood tests are important since this medicine can lower your blood counts. The regular blood tests check the effect of Isogen 125mg Capsule on your blood cells (white blood cells, red blood cells, and platelets). These tests should be done at the beginning of each chemotherapy cycle, on the 15th day of the first 2 cycles, and as clinically indicated.
Q. How should I take Isogen 125mg Capsule?
Generally, Isogen 125mg Capsule is taken once daily for 21 consecutive days followed by 7 days off treatment to add up a complete cycle of 28 days. Take this medicine with food and at the same time each day. Swallow the whole capsules. Do not open, chew, or crush them. Do not take the capsules that are broken or cracked. If you vomit after taking Isogen 125mg Capsule, do not take another dose and continue your regular dosing schedule.
Q. Do I need to use birth control method while using Isogen 125mg Capsule?
Women of childbearing potential who are receiving Isogen 125mg Capsule and their partners should use adequate contraceptive methods (e.g. double-barrier contraception such as condom and diaphragm). These methods should be used during therapy and for at least 3 weeks after completing therapy for females. Men who are on Isogen 125mg Capsule therapy should use birth control methods for at least 14 weeks after completing the therapy.
