  • Your doctor has prescribed Hydroxypropylmethylcellulose to treat dry eye disease.
  • It stabilizes the natural tear film and maintains necessary lubrication so your eyes don’t get dry and irritated.
  • May require long-term use.
  • Apply pressure on the corner of the eye (close to the nose) for about 1 minute immediately after instilling the drop.
  • Wait for at least 5-10 minutes before delivering the next medication in the same eye to avoid dilution of this medicine.
  • Stinging sensation may occur for 1-2 minutes. Notify your doctor if it persists for longer.
  • Make sure to use within 4 weeks of opening the bottle.

Q. What is Eyemist Gel?
Eyemist Gel belongs to a class of medicines called eye lubricants or artificial tears. It is available as eye drops. It is used to soothe irritation, burning and discomfort of dry eye conditions. One may experience such conditions because of deficient tear production, infrequent blinking, smoke, wind, pollution, extended use of computer screen or television, medical treatment or dry atmospheric conditions. Eyemist Gel may also be used to aid insertion of lenses or to make the lenses more comfortable while wearing.
Q. Is Eyemist Gel effective?
Eyemist Gel is effective if used in the dose and duration advised by your doctor. Do not stop taking it even if you see improvement in your condition. If you stop using Eyemist Gel too early, the symptoms may return or worsen.
Q. How should Eyemist Gel be used?
If you are using it for dry eyes, instil 1 or 2 drops in the affected eye(s) as needed. If you are using it to lubricate soft and rigid gas-permeable lenses, apply 1 to 2 drops to each eye with the lenses on as needed or as directed by your doctor. Blink several times after pouring the drops. Consult your doctor if you are not sure.

Use of Eyemist Gel should be avoided in patients who are allergic to Eyemist Gel or any of its components. However, if you are not aware of any allergy or if you are using Eyemist Gel for the first time, consult your doctor.
Q. What are the side effects of Eyemist Gel?
You may experience visual disturbances and eye discharge while using this medicine. Some other side effects of this medicine include redness of the eye, eye irritation, burning and discomfort, eyelid swelling and itching of the eye. If any of these side effects bother you, please consult your doctor.
Q. How should Eyemist Gel be stored?
Store at or below 25°C and out of the reach of children. Do not touch the tip of the container to any surface or eye(s), Replace the cap after every use. Remember not to use the eye drops after the expiry date or after 30 days of opening it.
