Cinnarizine is used in the treatment of motion sickness, vertigo and Meniere's disease.

How it works

Cinnarizine works by preventing constriction of the blood vessels of the inner ear. This improves the microcirculation of the ear.

Cinnarizine can aggravate motor function in patients with Parkinson’s disease. Use of Cinnarizine should be avoided in these patients. Although, this effect is reversible but may last for several days. It may also induce a parkinsonian syndrome in relatively old patients and therefore should be used with caution.

An overdose of Cinnarizine can cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, upset tummy, tremors, uncontrollable muscle spasms, muscle weakness or reduced muscle strength, drowsiness, or reduced consciousness.
