No, Desohit Lotion is not safe for babies. It is a corticosteroid and is not approved to be used in children less than 3 months of age. In babies, the absorption of Desohit Lotion is greater as compared to adults which might lead to systemic absorption (absorbed throughout the body) and effects like Adrenal (glands producing steroids) suppression, symptoms of Cushing’s syndrome, high blood sugar, facial swelling, glycosuria (excretion of glucose in urine), withdrawal (weakness, fatigue, decreased appetite, weight loss, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abdominal pain), and growth retardation in children.

Yes, Desohit Lotion can cause skin irritation. Though the chances are rare, the irritation can be due to the hypersensitivity of the person towards the medication or any added excipient of the drug. Allergy to corticosteroids may generally appear as inability of the wounds to heal. If symptoms like these appear, then consult your doctor immediately after discontinuing the medicine. The doctor will start appropriate therapy accordingly.
