How clip injection works

Clip Injection is an anti-fibrinolytic. It works by preventing the breakdown of blood clots to control excessive bleeding during periods, or after surgery.

No, Clip Injection should not be administered by injection into the muscles. It should be given strictly through slow injection into the veins to prevent side effects.
Q. Is Clip Injection dangerous?
Every medicine has its own side effects and these side effects are unlikely to happen if taken as directed. Usually, the benefits of the medicine are greater than the risk of side effects. Clip Injection can rarely cause serious side-effects which can be dangerous, like anaphylaxis (red and lumpy skin rash, difficulty breathing, swelling of face, mouth, lips or eyelids), clot in another part of the body or eye problems. Do consult your doctor before you start this medication and follow the instructions strictly as given.

Yes, there are chances of possible disturbances in your colour vision when you are on long term treatment with Clip Injection. Hence, regular eye check should be done during treatment and doctor should be informed if you notice any change in your vision. If any changes are seen your doctor may stop the medicine and suggest an alternative.

Q. Can Clip Injection cause pulmonary embolism?
Clip Injection promotes blood clotting and can rarely cause blood clot to travel to the lungs (pulmonary embolism) which can turn fatal sometimes. Pulmonary embolism is not a common side effect in patients taking Clip Injection but can occur in overdosing, patients with long bedrest or prone individuals. Evidence suggests that the increased risk of clot can be due to some other additional risk factors as well.
Q. Can you take Clip Injection on an empty stomach?
Clip Injection can be taken with or without food with a glass of water. The medicine should be swallowed as a whole and should not be crushed or chewed.
Q. Does Clip Injection affect fertility?
No, Clip Injection does not affect fertility. It is taken for heavy menstrual bleeding and evidence suggests no interference of this medicine with ovulation (release of eggs from the ovaries). Therefore, this medicine is not a type of contraceptive medicine and it will not affect your chances of becoming pregnant.
Q. Can Clip Injection be taken for nose bleeding?
Yes, Clip Injection can be used for nose bleeding. It helps to clot the blood and prevent bleeding. If the bleeding is frequently observed then the medicine can be even taken for a week.
